Retired in September, 1997 , as Chairman and Managing Director, Nizam Sugars Ltd, an industrial conglomerate, consisting of seven sugar factories, two distilleries, and a machinery working plant, after a brief stint, earlier as the Chief Secretary to the Government .

Vice-Chairman and Managing Director of AP Industrial Infrastructure Corporation (1987-89)

Acted as Chairman of the Board for a total period of 10 months during this tenure
Secretariat Experience :
Worked as Secretary / Principal Secretary of Education, Municipal Administration and Urban Development between 1987-91.

Government of India Experience :
Worked as Director, Rural Development (1978-81) and Director General of Currency and Coinage, Ministry of Finance, Government of India (1981-84), Managed six departmentally run industrial undertakings, producing paper currency, coinage and special paper required for printing currency notes.
While working in Government of India, deputed as a Mason Fellow to Harvard’s Kennedy School of Government.
Also participated in workshops/seminars organized in Johns Hopkins, UCLA (in collaboration with the World Bank)
Post Retirement Experience :
Worked as Dean, ICFAI School of Public Policy (2023-2010)
Currently working (since December, 2005) as Non-Executive Chairman, K.N.R. Constructions Ltd, a company involved in construction of Urban Infrastructure (roads, brides, etc)
Conclusion :
Acquired, by virtue of experience as Sub-Collector, Joint Collector, and Collector a thorough knowledge of Revenue Administration, including matters such as Record of Rights, Tenancy Laws, and disputes regarding title to lands both in the Andhra Pradesh and Telangana areas.
Further, acquired a synoptic perspective of the entire development process of urban infrastructure relating to acquisition and improvement of urban lands.
